Under The Radar CFB Players In Each Power 5 Conference

We all the big names in college football, young men poised to shine in the limelight such as Trevor Lawrence, Chuba Hubbard, Derek Stingley, etc. This list here is about the guys who aren't household names, but are deserving of lots of credit for their play. Without further adieu, I present one player from each Power 5 conference who has flown under the radar.

Pac-12: Hamilcar Rashed Jr., Redshirt Senior LB at Oregon State

Truth be told, even as a Pac-12 guy, I didn't really see how incredible of a 2019 season Hamilcar Rashed put up. On a mediocre Oregon State team, Rashed's 22.5 TFLs, which led the country, and an Oregon State record 14 sacks, went unnoticed by most. While it's hard to see Hamilcar (sick name by the way) build upon these numbers significantly, the guy is a stud and worth watching up in Corvallis.

ACC: Tutu Atwell, Junior WR at Louisville

I absolutely love Louisville heading into 2020 and you'll hear me yap about it all offseason. One of the main reasons? Mr. Chatarius "Tutu" Atwell. After having a small role and showing some promise as a Freshman, Tutu broke out in 2019 to the tune of 70 catches, 1276 yards, and 12 TDs. The guy is like a typical #4 hitter in baseball, a true Barry Bonds or Albert Pujols in that he's an elite deep threat that is a constant homer hitter. I mean the guy averaged 18.2 yards per catch with a high volume of catches! Atwell is a much watch in 2020.

Big Ten: Shaka Toney, Senior DE at Penn State

When you have arguably the best defender in the sport (Micah Parsons) as your teammate, it's easy to get overshadowed. Toney has been solid but unspectacular over the last 3 seasons, but he's shown steady improvement and seems poised for a big year in 2020. Each year his tackle and sack total have climbed and Shaka has shown flashes of utter greatness in games versus Purdue in 2019 (3 sacks) and against Indiana in 2018 (4 sacks). On a very good Penn State defense, love me some Shaka Toney.

SEC: John Rhys Plumlee, Sophomore QB at Ole Miss

After being thrusted into the starting role as a true freshman, John Rhys Plumlee made noise in the SEC as an elite runner. In 154 attempts, Plumlee ran for 1023 yards in 12 TDs in only 9 games! He's not quite there as a passer (he ran for more yards than he threw for) with his 52.7 completion percentage and 4 TDs to 3 INTs ratio, but with his incredible rushing ability and offensive guru Lane Kiffin coming to town, the sky is the limit for J.R.P.

Big 12: Charleston Rambo, Junior WR at Oklahoma

Lincoln Riley and co. are churning out offensive studs like butter, and I think Charleston Rambo is up next. Playing second fiddle to the great CeeDee Lamb, Rambo had 43 receptions for 743 yards and 5 TDs. The numbers aren't eye-popping, but both uncertainty about Jadon Haselwood, and the precedent set by CeeDee Lamb and Dede Westbrook, make me feel confident that Charleston Rambo will be great in 2020.

This article really should've been titled, "CFB's Best Names." I mean, Hamilcar? Tutu? Shaka? Rhys Plumlee? Rambo? All jokes aside, thank you for reading! Who are some under the radar guys that ya'll love? Do you agree or disagree with my picks? Let me know in the comments below!
